Fellow citizens of Benue State,
Distinguished guests, elders, youths, and friends of our dear State,
I extend warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations to you all as we commemorate 50 years of Benue State a remarkable milestone in our shared journey of unity,
Since its creation in 1976, Benue State has stood proudly as the Food Basket of the Nation, blessed with fertile land, rich culture, and a people known for their hard work, peace, and hospitality. Over the past five decades, our State has produced great leaders, scholars, farmers, entrepreneurs, artists, and patriots who have contributed immensely to national development and global excellence.
Today is a moment to reflect on our past, celebrate our achievements, and renew our commitment to the future. We honour the vision and sacrifices of our founding fathers, traditional rulers, community leaders, and all those—known and unsung—who laid the foundations upon which we continue to build.
While we celebrate, we also acknowledge the challenges we have faced and those we must still overcome. These realities strengthen our resolve to build a Benue State that is peaceful, secure, economically vibrant, and inclusive—where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive regardless of background or location.
As we mark this Golden Jubilee, my administration reaffirms its dedication to good governance, agricultural transformation, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and sustainable economic growth. Together, with unity of purpose and collective responsibility, we can unlock the full potential of our State.
To our youths, you are the heartbeat of the next 50 years. To our elders, we thank you for your wisdom and guidance. To our partners at home and in the diaspora, we appreciate your continued belief in Benue State.
Let this celebration inspire us to deepen our love for Benue, strengthen our unity, and work tirelessly for a future of peace, prosperity, and pride.
Happy 50th Anniversary, Benue State.
God bless you all, and God bless Benue State.
Signed:
The Executive Governor
Benue State
Creation is an act of defiance and hope. In 1976, when Benue was carved from the old Benue-Plateau state, it wasn’t just a administrative change it was the formal recognition of a culture that has always known its worth.
Fertile valleys and endless rivers. Our soil is our bank, our culture is our currency. 50 years of agricultural leadership has made us indispensable.
A resilience born of sun and toil. From the sophisticated artistry of our cloth to the thunderous rhythm of our feet, we are Benue.
Recognized as the epicenter of diverse minority cultures in Northern Nigeria.
